SOUL 3, 2019Cove, Aberdeen, 23 February
Plenty of ESOC members raced in the third Scottish Orienteering Urban League event of 2019, with some excellent results, including 6 class winners.
Cove Bay is on the coast just south of Aberdeen. It’s a modern residential area, featuring many short roads and blocks of housing at various angles, with footpaths, grassed areas and cul-de-sacs to trap the unwary – ideal sprint terrain. The opportunity to try touch-free Emit was a bonus for those going to the JK. The weather was fine and dry, with a chilly breeze.

M Open (25 competitors) – Richard Purkis 3rd, Duncan Robertson 6th, Andrew Lindsay 11th
W Open (23) – Sarah Jones 1st, Gill Martin 9th
M Vet (24) – Mark Wood 11th=
M Supervet (19) – Keith Brown 7th, Crawford Lindsay 8th
