SOUL 7, 2022Banchory, 1 May
Just a few ESOC members travelled north to Deeside for the seventh event in the 2022 Scottish Orienteering Urban League, which was organised by Mar Orienteering Club, but they had some great results.
There was a very low entry from ESOC for this event, perhaps due to clashes with other activities at the bank holiday weekend. SOUL 7 was based at Hill of Banchory Primary School – as this name implies, Banchory is quite hilly. The terrain was mostly modern housing developments, with some shortcuts along small paths, as well as strips of woodland and some open parkland, and complicated buildings with tricky route choice at Banchory Academy.
ESOC results:
W Open (4 competitors) – Sabine Oechsner 2nd
M Veteran (7) – Terry Johnstone 3rd
W Supervet (6) – Helena Nolan 1st
M Ultravet (7) – Martin Caldwell 3rd, Les Dalgleish 6th
W Ultravet (7) – Margaret Dalgleish 1st
Results, Routegadget, and other details about the event are in the Banchory SOUL event item on the MAROC website.
