SOUL 8, 2018Danestone, 15 September
Just a few ESOC members ventured north to Aberdeen for the eighth event in the 2018 Scottish Orienteering Urban League.
This urban event took place NW of Aberdeen city centre, in the housing estates on the north side of the River Don, scene of a previous SOUL event in 2014. This time the event was based at Danestone Community Centre, with indoor registration, download and refreshments available. This is a mixed urban area, with plenty of route choice along pathways and alleys between the houses, as well as open grassed areas, and the longest courses also visited a mill lade in steep woodland by the River Don and a complicated new development near the old mill buildings.
ESOC members in the top half of the results were:
M Open (7 competitors) – Ben Brown 3rd
M Supervet (10) – Keith Brown 5th
W Junior (3) – Rachel Brown 1st
W Young Junior (2) – Maja Robertson 1st
Full results, further details and Routegadget are available on the SOUL 8 event page of the Grampian Orienteers website.
