SOUL 8, 2019MacRosty Park, Crieff, 31 July

There was a good turnout from ESOC, with entries in every class and 4 class winners, for the eighth event in the 2019 Scottish Orienteering Urban League, which took place on the Rest Day of the Scottish 6 Days.

The Rest Day Sprint was organised by Masterplan Adventure, in MacRosty Park, and had a much larger entry than is usual at SOUL events. MacRosty Park is in the valley of the Turret Burn, on the west side of Crieff, with some steep slopes. There are many mature trees, a Victorian bandstand, children’s play areas, flower beds, and grassed areas, criss-crossed by paths, steps and bridges over the burn and an old mill lade. The courses zig-zagged around the park, and M/W Open also ventured into the streets outside the park.
