Sprintelope 2025 seriesStarts on 16th April
ESOC will again take part in the annual Sprintelope series along with the other Lothian and Fife orienteering clubs (ELO, INT, AROS and KFO).
Every Wednesday evening from April to August one of these clubs will put on an informal Urban/Sprint style event with (usually) 2 courses ie Long (~5km) and Short (~2.5-3km). Where the area is amenable the planner may also put on a junior course with no road crossings and/or nominate a social meeting place for post-race chat.
The ESOC dates in the series (with the first 3 venues) are
- 16th April - Astley Ainslie – entries open on 9th April
- 30th April - Alnwickhill - entries open on 23rd April
- 11th June - The Exchange (central Edinburgh)
- 25th June venue TBC
- 23rd July - venue TBC
- 13th August - venue TBC

Please refresh your understanding of the Sprint mapping symbol set - Sprint (ISSprOM 20-19-2) - here and in particular the symbols indicating out of bounds areas (olive green), impassable features which must not be crossed and artificial barriers.
