STAG Score 4, 2017Faskally, 30 April

Just a few ESOC members competed at the final event in STAG’s Score series.

Faskally is just north of Pitlochry, and although it’s a small area, there’s plenty of variety. The terrain is mixed woodland, quite hilly, with some intricate contours and rock features, an attractive loch, and a network of paths and tracks.

As at the previous winter score events, there was a time limit of 60 minutes, with 25 controls, whose points value ranged from 300 to 700, with a maximum possible score of 12,500 points, which was achieved by 9 competitors.

ESOC members in the top half of the results (out of 34) were:
Martin Quirke – 2nd (12,500 points)
Mike Stewart – 6th (12,500 points)
Les Dalgleish – 9th (12,500 points)
Roger Garnett – 10th (12,100 points)
Margaret Dalgleish – 11th (12,000 points)

Full results are available here.

Unfortunately there was some drama at this event - Mark Wood had an accident, injuring his shoulder and ending up at Perth Royal Infirmary. He is recovering well - hope to see him back in action soon.

This event was the final one of the series; the others were:
STAG Winter Score 1, Pollok Park, 8 January
STAG Winter Score 2, Strathclyde Country Park, 15 January
STAG Winter Score 3, Drumpellier Country Park, 12 February
