TAY Christmas Score event 2009Muirward Wood, 13 December

Once again, ESOC members won prizes at this annual fun event, held at Muirward Wood, near Perth.  There were Christmas-themed bonus questions to boost your score.

Some ESOC members went to the 2009 TAY Christmas Score event, which had a good turnout. The weather was very frosty and cold, and there were blue skies. Muirward Wood is quite small, rough in places, but has a good network of paths, and the frosty weather helped what would otherwise have been fairly wet underfoot conditions. The parking for the event was at Perth airport, so there were small planes taking off and landing throughout.

There was a choice of a 45 or 60 minute time limit, with 30 controls to find, and a question to answer at each control. There was a fancy dress competition beforehand, with bonus points awarded. Most people wore something which could be classed as fancy dress, though often it was in the form of a hat.

There were prizes in both time categories for the men’s and women’s overall winner, the man and woman with the most questions answered correctly, and the man and woman with the most controls visited.

ESOC prizewinners were:
Margaret Dalgleish – 60 minutes (women)
– overall winner AND woman with most controls visited.
Clive Masson – 60 minutes (men)
– overall winner AND man with most questions answered correctly.

Afterwards many competitors gathered for a meal in a local restaurant, and a good time was had by all.

Results, and the quiz answers, are now available on the TAY website.
