TAY Local Event – Deuchny Wood13 October 2013

There was a modest turnout from ESOC for this local orienteering event near Perth.

Deuchny Wood is part of Kinnoull Hill Woodland Park, just to the east of Perth. It is a wooded area, with some deciduous trees and also coniferous plantation, and has plenty of paths and tracks. Longer courses ventured further east onto Murrayshall Hill, which is mostly open and had only been used for orienteering once before.
ESOC’s Jim Martin planned the courses, which were reported to be excellent.

ESOC members in the top half of the results for their course were:
Green (18 competitors) – Alastair Lessells 3rd, Maggie Scrugham 4th, Finlay Ross 5th, Bill Stevenson 9th
Short Green (12) – Fiona Finlay 6th
Yellow (9) – Holly Ross 3rd

Results and more details are on the Deuchny Woods event page on the Tayside Orienteers website.
