Explanation of event types
Local events are usually low key and in the 'localised' area, ideal for newcomers to try the sport and Training events are non competitive and used for training and coaching, aimed at members of the club, but they can attract people from neighbouring clubs, and are often ideal for newcomers to try the sport. Regional events attract participants from around the local Region, National events are high quality competitions that will attract people from far away, Major events are Major Events such as a British Championships. Virtual events are where there are no physical controls being used. Your presence at a control is registered using an App on your mobile phone, normally the free MapRun App.

Directions / Parking
The turn-off for Glentress Forest is well signposted on the north side of the A72 between Peebles (about 5k east of Peebles) and Innerleithen (the google map pin is approximate). Follow signs past the Peel Car Park uphill 5km to Buzzards Nest Car Park.

Course Information
Courses A-D as below - something suitable for all abilities.
COURSES/DIFFICULTY
A - Tricky navigation – 7.4km
B - Tricky Navigation – 4.7km
C - Fairly Tricky Navigation – 3.5km
D - Easy Navigation – 2.1km
Please note that course lengths indicate the straight line distance between controls. The distance you actually ride is likely to be up to around 30% longer, depending upon the route you take. In mountain bike orienteering, a longer route can easily be faster, depending on track ride-ability and climb, etc.

Registration and Start times
BRIEFING and STARTS: Centred on Buzzard's Nest (upper) car park. Arrive there before 10.15am, ready for a safety briefing at 10.30am. STARTS from 10.30am to 11am. Specific start times will not be allocated and riders will be set off at short intervals over this period.
