ESOC’s Summer Turf Challenge 20231 August – 30 September

Another extended challenge for the summer!

This year’s challenge is along the Clyde to Forth cycle route, National Cycle Network route NCN75. The main challenge is to complete the route from Glasgow Central station to Leith (or vice versa), with an extreme option of doing the whole route from (or to) Gourock.
Route 75 runs from Glasgow to Edinburgh, connecting the Clyde and the Forth via Coatbridge, Bathgate, and Livingston, and links up various well-known sections including the north side of the Clyde in Glasgow, and the Water of Leith walkway in Edinburgh.
For more details, see the Cycle Travel route summary, or this Wikipedia page. And the route is shown on the Sustrans website too.

There are Turf zones throughout the route, though the density varies. The nearest zones to the end points are StationEntry in Glasgow (or Gourock if you’re up for the extreme challenge) and SwingItVicky in Leith.
You can do this any time between 1 August and 30 September, and however you like: in one expedition (possibly not in a single day), or in sections, and in any order.

There won’t be any checking, just self-reporting via the ESOC Turfers or Turf Scotland WhatsApp groups.
