Borders Urban Weekend 2026Berwick-upon-Tweed/Eyemouth, 6/7 June
This weekend featured two events in the UK Urban League, and Sunday’s event was also the fourth in the 2026 Scottish Orienteering Urban League. There was a modest turnout from ESOC, but some good results nonetheless.
Cumbernauld SOUL 3 2026Sunday 31st May
Urban race 3 of the weekend was also SOUL 3. Hannah claimed 1st place in the WV, whilst Luke (MYJ), Alison (WUV) and Ewart (MHV) all came in 2nd in their respective age categories. Luke, Hannah, Alison and Ewart are now also leading the tables for the urban league.
Scottish Sprint Champs 2026, CumbernauldSaturday 30th May
An ESOC podium of Anna, Rachael and Hannah for the WV was the highlight of this year's Scottish Sprint championship, but there were also firsts for Ingrid, Luke, Calum, Helen and Ewart with a third place for Les to make a fantastic 9 podium places for the club.
Scottish Relay Champs 2026, GrandtullySunday 24th May
A return to the forest in Ballinluig for the relays resulted in podium places for 2 ESOC teams. Golds for Morten, Anna & Megan, with silvers for juniors Ingrid, Eddie & Hamish.
Scottish Individual Champs 2026, Grandtully, BallinluigSaturday 23rd May
An excellent day for ESOC at the Scottish Individual championship as 13 members, including 3 juniors, made it onto the podium, with Kirsten and Eleanor both receiving gold medals in their respective age classes.
Second East of Scotland Coaching Day 2026Sunday 10th May
The second coaching day for club members in the East of Scotland area was held on Kinnoull Hill on the outskirts of Perth.
April Social 2026Tues 22 April 2026
Keen Orienteers and Turfers all met up in the Bonnington area of North Edinburgh for a night of activity, it was dry and warmish to start with but the temperature descended rapidly during the event and many came back seeking the warmth of the local hostelry in double quick time!
Glen Dye SOL 2 2026Sunday 3rd May
Another small ESOC contingent returned to Glen Dye, following it's use on the final day of last year's Scottish 6 Days. This time there was 3rd place for Sally on Short Green and 4th places for Ben on Brown and Alison on Green.
Aboyne Urban SOUL 2 2026Saturday 2nd May
Although the ESOC contingent was small, there were 7 podium places for the club, with 1st places for Hannah, Alison & Ewart, including a clean sweep in the women's ultravet category! Hannah, Alison, Ewart and Luke are also now lying in 1st place in the overall SOUL standings.
South Achray SoSOL 2026Sunday 26th April
Aberfoyle saw a decent turn out from ESOC, resulting in 2nd place for Emma on Short Green and 3rd for Ossian on White. Another 7 members were in the top 10 of their class. Overall, Margaret & Sally are lying 2nd & 4th on Short Green, Alison is 6th on Green, Keith & Megan are 6th & 7t
British Middle Distance & Midland Championships 2026Brown Clee Hill, 18/19th April 2026
The ESOC ladies made the club proud with Emma, Megan and Helena achieving Championship times in the middle distance race on Saturday and all the competing ladies achieving the highest Gold standard times on Sunday, including an excellent 1st place for Helena Nolan in the W60L race.
SOL 1 2026 - Dunachtonmore, KincraigSunday 12th April
The first SOL of 2026, in an area adjacent to the Highland Wildlife Park, saw a good turn out and strong results from ESOC members, with Sally Lindsay 3rd on Short Green and 8 others in the top 10 of their course.
JK 2026 - Day 4 - Relays TullochroiskMonday 6th April
ESOC fielded 2 teams in the mini relay and 10 adult teams in various categories on the final day of the JK. This concluded a very successful and well attended series of events, with ESOC having 12 different podium finishers, some achieving this more than once, and overall 62 top 10 finishes.
JK 2026 Day 3 - Long distance Rannoch ForestSunday 5th April
The 2nd day for the overall JK podium saw juniors make ESOC proud. Ingrid & Kirstin came 1st & 2nd in W10A, Emma Daley 2nd in W14A, Simon Hindle 3rd in M10B. They were followed by Mary Williams 3rd on W75L. Just missing out were Hamish Mair 4th on M10A, Helena Nolan & Sally Lindsay 5th o
JK 2026 - Day 2 - Middle Distance Rannoch ForestSaturday 4th April
The middle distance race, in very changeable conditions, saw 6 ESOC competitors on the podium and several others in the top 10.
