Scottish Sprint Championships 2023Kirkintilloch, 2 April
ESOC had 2 class winners and lots of medallists at the Scottish Sprint Championships, which was organised by Clydeside Orienteers. It was also the fifth event in this year’s Scottish Orienteering Urban League.
British Orienteering Championships 2023Chilterns, 25-26 March
Once again, the British Championships weekend was in the south of England, and just a few ESOC competitors made the long journey.
SOL 2, 2023North Pentlands, 19 March
The second event in this year’s Scottish Orienteering League was organised by ESOC, with a great turnout of helpers as well as competitors.
March Social 2023Loanhead, Tuesday 21 March
This well-attended social featured orienteering or turfing, with drinks afterwards.
Scottish Middle Distance Championships 2023Beecraigs, 18 March
This year’s Scottish Middle Distance Championships was organised by Forth Valley Orienteers and saw a good turnout from ESOC, with some good results but no champions this time.
SOL 1, 2023Errochty, 12 March
There was snow for the first event of the 2023 Scottish Orienteering League, which was organised by St Andrew’s Orienteering Club, Glasgow.
Scottish Night Championships weekend 2023Balmoral/Balmedie, 25/26 February
MAROC organised this year’s Scottish Night Championships, at Balmoral on Royal Deeside, and GRAMP presented a contrasting event in the dunes of Balmedie the next day. There were good ESOC results at both events.
Northern Championships weekend 2023Birchen Edge/Burbage Moor, 25/26 February
This was a double header weekend in the Peak District, with a middle distance event on Saturday followed by the Northern Championships on Sunday. A handful of ESOC members were there, with some great results.
February Social 2023Cramond foreshore, Tuesday 21 February
Another enjoyable social - a MapRun score event on a brand new map, followed by refreshments.
SOUL 4, 2023Broxburn, 19 February
ESOC organised the fourth event in the 2023 Scottish Orienteering Urban League, which was held in Broxburn.
CompassSport Cup Scottish Heat 2023Faskally, 12 February
There was a great turnout from ESOC for the CompassSport Cup & Trophy Scottish heat.
SOUL 3, 2023Muirton, 11 February
The third event in the 2023 Scottish Orienteering Urban League took place in Perth, organised by Tayside Orienteers, with some good ESOC results.
