SOL 6, 2016Fairy Knowe & Doon Hill, 2 October
The sixth event in this year’s Scottish Orienteering League was presented by Clydeside Orienteers, and plenty of ESOC members competed.

We ventured into West Lothian on a balmy evening, to enjoy the wildlife of Almondell and run along the banks of the River Almond.
2016 London City RaceSaturday 10 September
A few ESOC members travelled south for the London City race, which was on a brand new area on the south side of the Thames.

There was a great turnout from ESOC (and some great results, too) for this excellent weekend, which included the 8th event in the 2016 Scottish Orienteering Urban League, and the 5th Scottish Orienteering League event of 2016.

A few ESOC members decided to forego the delights of the ESOC Ultrasprint to compete at this excellent “Sand & City” weekend, organised by Deeside Orienteering Club and South East Lancashire Orienteering Club.

There was a good ESOC turnout for AYROC’s South of Scotland Orienteering League event, which was originally scheduled to take place in February, but had to be postponed due to bad weather.

Croeso 2016
Croeso (Welsh for welcome) is the name given to the Welsh summer multiday event which is held once every 4 years. Eleanor Pyrah reports on the 2016 event from ESOC's point of view.

Held at Balmacara, on stunningly wild open rocky hillside with distracting views of Skye (when the weather cleared enough to actually see the stunning views).
