There was a great turnout this week for the skyline run with 23 walkers and runners enjoying a lovely warm, sunny evening in the Pentland Hills.

Scottish Championships 2016Balmoral, 21/22 May
A large ESOC contingent competed at the Scottish Championships on Deeside, with many excellent runs and some trophy winners.

There was a good turnout from ESOC for Inverness Orienteering Club’s event (the third event of the 2016 Scottish Orienteering League), in the challenging terrain of Glen Affric.
British Orienteering Championships 2016Brown Clee, 30 April - 1 May
Just two ESOC members travelled south for the 2016 British Long Championships event – congratulations to Rachel Brown, who won a bronze medal.
May Social 2016 - Hash RunWednesday 4 May
For the first time in 4 years, the weather held for the hash run. 23 ESOC members enjoyed a superb evening of hashing followed by a supper and debrief at the Clark house in Stockbridge.
Scottish Spring 2016A weekend of events on 22/23/24 April 2016
Billed as a weekend of high quality orienteering in Pitlochry with the Dark Thistle Night Race at Craig a' Barns, the JOK Chasing Sprint at Faskally (UK Elite Orienteering League - UKEOL) and a Middle Distance Race at Bonskeid Estate (World Ranking Event and UKEOL).
SoSOL5, 2016Drumlanrig Woods, 17 April
The fifth event in this season’s South of Scotland Orienteering League was organised by Solway Orienteers, and had a modest turnout from ESOC.
