Small area of woodland on a hill.
Springfield Mill is managed by Midlothian Council. It is the site of an old paper mill, demolished long ago. The site has been restored in recent years as a park and wildlife reserve. This is a small area in a loop of the North Esk, with a good variety of terrain and features on a small hill. It’s mostly deciduous woodland, with some exotic trees, a pond, open areas, and paths throughout.
